The rugs are all made of 100% recycled fabrics from unwanted clothing. No fabric is purchased off the bolt at a fabric store. This however, does not reduce the quality of the final product as the artisan is sure to patch any hole and conceal even the most minor color flaw present in the recycled fabric. I have not yet encountered a more meticulous, quality conscious person in my life.

Fabrics are matched for type, weight and composition. Cotton is used with cotton. Most rugs are a blend of poly-cottons. One rug was made entirely out of terrycloth another entirely out of denim.

The rugs are incredibly sturdy. A three strand braid is woven together with a strong cord. The white cord, with a zig-zag running through it can be seen in the picture below. However, the weaving process conceals it entirely. A crochet hook makes the work possible. The only machine sewing that is done is to sew the long strands together, creating a rug of a tightly woven, single, long braid. The rugs lay flat but can be quite bulky for shipping.
